When you have young children around it’s hard enough to find time to go to the toilet by yourself most days let alone exercise by yourself! This has led to more and more families exercising together. I’ve come up with a quick list of easy and relatively cheap exercises that you can do as a whole family to keep everyone nice and fit!
1. A nice long family walk
We love going on walks as a family and there are so many nice places that you can go and explore for free; you can have a walk by the river, by a nice lake or walk around while exploring a new town or city. Walking is free and it’s something that the whole family can fit in really easily with their lifestyle.
2. Riding a Scooter
Scooters are quite cheap and really easy to transport around. You could quite easily pop a scooter & all the safety equipment into the car and head off to a lovely park or open space as a family.
Lily and I love to do yoga together; we have a number of books and DVDs also follow a lot of Yoga teachers on YouTube. Yoga is something that suits all abilities so is perfect for the whole family. I also think it is a really useful thing to get children into when they young because it helps them learn about the mind, body and spirit.
Swimming is one of the best all over body workouts and is one the things we enjoy most as a family. We do lots of little overnight stays, mini breaks & holidays and one of the first things we always look for in a hotel is a swimming pool!
5. Obstacle course
This is a great way to have fun as a family and get fit at the same time. We like to set up a little obstacle course in the garden; we usually use the trampoline, a crawl through tunnel and some cones!
