Beautiful World – Featuring Bridie By The Sea

Beautiful World is a new series at Happy Mummy; each week we will interview a Top Blogger and talk all things Travel.  This week we have the pleasure of talking to Bridget from Bridie By The Sea.

Beautiful World

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

My name is Bridget and I’m mum to Emma, 2 years old and James, 13 years old. We live in Brighton,
East Sussex with my other half.

Where is your favourite place in the UK?

I love the Cotswolds, I find it magical and so quaint. In particular, Bath and Banbury are beautiful places
to visit.

Where would you most like to visit in the UK?

Without doubt, Cornwall. I have never been as the journey is quite far from Brighton but hope to very
soon!

Where is your favourite place in the world?

New York. I’ve only been once and it is the only time I have visited USA too. I’m not sure if it’s because I
recognised so many buildings and landmarks from films but I thought it was breathtaking. I could imagine
myself living there, if I had the chance.

Where would you most like to visit in the world?

Tokyo, or anywhere in Japan. I’ve been a sushi lover for many years and I’m just fascinated to see what
it’s like.

Share your favourite travel photo with us and tell us a bit about what it means to you?

Beautiful World

Melbourne, Australia hold such a lot of memories for me. It is where my Dad grew up and my extended
family mostly live here. Going back to visit is always so special for me and I took this picture in Sorrento,
when we took a day trip to the coast.

Do you prefer a city break or the beach?

Definitely the beach, somewhere to relax and unwind!

Describe your ideal holiday?

A beachside holiday where the children can paddle their feet. Ideally with a city nearby so we can explore
on the odd day too.

Where is next on your travel list?

We are hoping to visit Iceland in the next year, as it’s somewhere none of us have been before.

What’s your top travel tip?

When travelling with toddlers on the plane – bring little things to keep them occupied and don’t worry too
much if they cry. The cabin crew are usually so accommodating and make them feel so welcome and
you’ll be on the other side before you know it.

Who is the most interesting person you have met while travelling?

I’m sad to say we haven’t really met anyone while we were travelling, must change that on our next trip!

What would be your desert island discs?

The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett by Eels
I’m Wide Awake It’s Morning by Bright Eyes
Sky Blue Sky by Wilco
