Beautiful World is a new series at Happy Mummy; each week we will interview a Top Blogger and talk all things Travel. This week we have the pleasure of talking to Lyndsey from Me, him, the dog and a baby!
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m Lyndsey and I live in North Norfolk with my husband John and daughter Erin.
Share your favourite travel photo with us and tell us a bit about what it means to you?
This photo is of me and John on our wedding day in 2013. We got married in Orlando, Florida so it’s the place and photo that means the most to me. We’re planning on going back for our 10th anniversary!
Where is your favourite place in the UK?
I am so in love with where we live. I have only lived in Norfolk for 4 years but it is absolutely beautiful. There are so many places to visit and so much to see. It’s also a wonderful place to raise a family.
Where would you most like to visit in the UK?
I’ve always wanted to go to Cornwall or Newquay. Neither me or John drive though so getting places can be a bit tricky at times.
Where is your favourite place in the world?
Toronto, Canada. I lived there for a year just over 10 years ago and I always say I want to go back. It feels like a second home to me.
Where would you most like to visit in the world?
Hawaii. John and I have a globe that we try to use to determine our next holiday. However, it only ever seems to go to Hawaii every time we spin it so I think that’s where I’m meant to visit some day.
Do you prefer a city break or the beach?
Two years ago I would have said city break without hesitation. However, having a child changes things and now all I want to do is go to the beach with her and play in a pool!
Describe your ideal holiday?
Pool, beach, nice food and drink, John and Erin!
Where is next on your travel list?
Our next UK break is a week at Centre Parcs with my sister and her fiance. We’ve never been before and I can’t wait. Our next trip abroad though is next April. We’re staying at the FERGUS Style Pollensa Park SPA in Majorca, where Maria has recently visited herself. The photos made me want to go right now!
What’s your top travel tip?
Plan as much as you possibly can. I have found that planning means you get the most out of a holiday, even if it is how long to spend at the beach/ in the pool.
Who is the most interesting person you have met while travelling?
Living in Toronto meant meeting people from all over the world. Toronto is so multicultural and no Canadians worked where I ended up working. That was a bit strange.
What would be your desert island discs?
These are just three songs that I can’t live without for various reasons. I’d be happy listening to these over and over again.
Clair De Lune – Claude Debussy
Etta James – At Last
David Bowie – Dance Magic Dance
