Lily & Daddy popped along to Surrey Quays’ shopping centre on Saturday to experience the exciting Christmas installation that’s happening at the centre in December – the Festive Flight School.
Surrey Quays shopping centre are inviting children to help save Christmas by enrolling in The Festive Flight School.
Lily enrolled on Saturday morning and was able to learn the basics of ‘Yuletide Aviation Safety’ before visiting Santa onboard his sleigh and experiencing an imaginative journey to help make Rudolph fly.
Lily arrived at the pop up at 11 and was taught a festive dance by the elves Miles High, Florence, Boggles & Phillip. Lily then balanced across an imaginary roof and climbed into the sleigh with Santa.
Lily then used “magic hands” and flew the Sleigh with Santa (Rudolph’s legs start kicking and his nose lights up!).
On completion of the training, Lily got a certificate and a photograph that was taken onboard the sleigh. She also received a candy cane. Photographs are usually charged.
It launched on the 5th December and runs every day until Christmas Eve from 11am to 5pm.
I asked Lily what she thought of the Festive Flight School “Going on the sleigh and seeing Rudolph’s nose light was my favourite part”. I’ve been to see Santa a fair few times over the years and I think that having children able to get on a sleigh with him is an incredible experience; it’s simply magical for a child.
