What Career Did You Have Planned As A Child?

As a child if you asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I always said “A flute player in an orchestra”.

Did I have a flute? No

Could I play a Flute? No

In fairness to my parents I was given everything I ever wanted, so I obviously never asked for a flute or lessons (in fact I distinctly remember not asking for them!).

Maybe I just assumed that one day I would pick up a flute rock up at an orchestra door and bet the star of the show, somehow knowing it all off by heart ?
The closest I have come to realising wing a flute player in an orchestra is watching the last night of the proms and owning a James Gallway Cassette (yes I’m old, I was an 80’s child!)

  1. Haha, its never too late to learn! I wanted to be in Starlight Express (also an 80’s child) and I cant skate and I definitely, unequivocally can not, and never should, sing. Unless you want a building clearing, then I’m your girl!

  2. LOL – love how in your head you were a flute aficionado! I think if I gave me kids a cassette tape they would not have a clue what it was.
